Curriculum planning

Curriculum planning around what your child has finished — not a grade level.

A box curriculum tells you what 5th grade math should be. Your kid is not the box. In IlmNest, each Child has a Journey per subject, broken into Milestones. Pick Lessons from the Library or bring your own — Smart Backlog tracks the rest.

What This Helps You Do

One weekly plan per child — Islamic studies on the same grid as the rest

01

Subjects as Journeys

Quran memorization, Arabic, fiqh, math, science, writing — each subject is a Journey per Child. Import a Curriculum Pack from the Library or build the Journey yourself.

02

Milestones, not grade levels

A Milestone is what your child is actually working toward (e.g., 'Memorize Surah Al-Mulk', 'Long division') — not 'Grade 5 math'. Move on when finished, not when the calendar says.

03

Smart Backlog picks the next Lesson

When you open the Planner, the Smart Backlog already knows the next Lesson in each Child's current Milestone. No re-deriving the plan from scratch every week.

FAQ

Questions parents ask before they start

Do I need a curriculum to start?

No. Import a Curriculum Pack from the Library, build your own Journey from scratch, or mix both. Start with one Child and one subject if that is easier.

Can I bring my own lessons?

Yes. Every Library Lesson is editable, and you can add your own Lessons to a Milestone — whether that is a PDF you already use, a Quran teacher's worksheet, or a YouTube link.

What if my kid finishes a Milestone early?

The Smart Backlog picks up the next Milestone in that Journey. No waiting for a grade-level marker. Same in reverse — if a Milestone takes longer, the rest of the year does not collapse.
